Changing the Communications Module

These instructions only apply to the Veva III - E01 or W01 models

Replace Cellular Module with Wifi Module

  • Remove the four exterior screws.
  • Lift the device head.
  • Disconnet the battery power jumper from the battery retainer plate.
  • Place device head upside down on a table. Identify two grey antenna wires, as shown below. Inzwa Veva III Cellular Module
  • Use your fingers to gently diconnect the antena connectors from the module. Remove antenna wire from cellular module Remove antenna wire from cellular module
  • Extract the comminications module by grabbing between your fingers and gently pull up. Cellular modeule with antenna wires removed
  • Place the Wifi module into the empty slot as shown below. WiFi module installed
  • Gently snap the gray antenna wire connected to the left-most antenna connector (see arrow) to the WiFi module. The second gray antenna wire shouldn't be connected. Antenna wire connected to WiFi module
  • Reconnect the battery power jumper to the battery retainer plate.
  • Replace the device head on the base
  • Tighten the four exterior screws.
  • Use the device WiFi commands to configure the SSID and password by connecting to the device using the USV cable and a terminal emulator.

Replace WiFi Module with Cellular Module

  • Follow the steps above in reverse.
  • After inserting the cellular communications module, use the image below to connect the two gray antenna wires to the proper connectors on the module. Antenna wires connected to cellular module
  • No configuration should be required if using the SIM supplied by Inzwa.
